Polyglucosamine is an alternative name for fully deacetylated chitosan. This term is sometimes used to distinguish it from partially acetylated chitosans. With a degree of acetylation of 0%, polyglucosamine marks one end of the range of chitosans possible, where chitin sensu strictu with a degree of acetylation of 100% marks the opposite end.
